PC gaming on Linux has quietly improved a great deal in the past few years, both in terms of the quantity of games available as well as kernel and driver support. This talk, targeted at beginner and intermediate level Linux desktop users, provides a brief overview of recent improvements, a review of affordable hardware configurations, and a short tutorial on installing and configuring Manjaro, a popular, rolling release Linux distro that has many features of interest to gamers.

Adam is an IT professional from Chester County, PA. He is a Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator with a career focus in infrastructure and networking. He has been using Linux/Unix since 1997. In addition to video games, Adam has many other "retro" hobbies going far back into the previous century including amateur radio, pinball machine maintenance, vinyl record collecting, and Polaroid photography.
