Quantum computing is becoming more and more popular yet is still seen as something with an aura of mysticism. This talk aims to introduce quantum computing in a fairly practical way by laying out some basic groundwork required (yes that includes math). From here I will talk about different types of quantum computers in addition to quantum simulators. Finally we will wrap up with how some companies are using quantum computing today and give a brief introduction to programming with the D-Wave using their Python API.
