A presentation on how applications built with the Ecere SDK ( http://ecere.org ; http://github.com/ecere/ecere-sdk ) can now easily be deployed to multiple Virtual Reality platforms such as the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, leveraging OpenVR (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/openvr ). The workshop will feature:
- An overview of the Ecere runtime GUI and graphics capabilities, eC programming language ( http://ec-lang.org ), bindings to other languages (C, Python, C++...) and IDE
- A walk-through of the particularities of developing Virtual Reality applications (rendering 2 stereoscopic images each frame, updating the view matrix to reflect the rotation and translation of the head mounted display, interfacing with VR touch controllers)
- Demonstration of Virtual Reality applications built with the Ecere SDK, with an opportunity to try on the headset
- A chance for Philly eC & Ecere users to get some guidance from the developers with their projects (if time allows -- we will also have a table in the exhibitors sections where people are welcome to show up for that as well).
